If you’re currently a Houzz Pro member, you’ve probably heard of their newest Pro Minute video feature. They’ve launched an exclusive new video compliment to Pro that features a short video of your company on your Houzz profile.
After speaking with homeowners, they learned that personality is one of the most important qualifications they look for when hiring a pro.
And with Pro Minute, they are able to showcase your personality and passion directly to your potential clients and allow you to tell your story.
So...will it work for you? Here’s what I think:
Video is the next new medium. You will, without a doubt, see video being utilized more and more by companies in the residential construction industry. Homebuyers love it, your remodeling clients love it...it provides another contextual view into your product and it gives you an opportunity to tell your clients a story, weaving in your unique process for getting the job done right.
Video will definitely help you pre-sell very well and increase your conversions from a Houzz visitor into a form submission. That said, you might want to consider what will provide more impact at this point: increasing your visibility on Houzz or increasing your conversions on your Houzz profile. The rule of thumb is this:
Treat your Houzz profile like your website. If you currently aren’t paying for a program that gets you profile views proactively, then no one can find you and that video will never be seen.
So if you’re thinking about adding video, consider how much volume of traffic is going to your profile first. That might be the first place to start upping spend in your Houzz program.
